How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrival in Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, our representative meets and assists you before transferring you to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a short briefing with your guide about the upcoming itinerary, then settle in for an overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 2 :

Great Pyramids, National Museum, Citadel of Mohamed Ali – Train to Aswan

After breakfast at the hotel, your private guide collects you in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle to visit the Giza Necropolis. You stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the smaller pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and the legendary Great Sphinx, including a stop at the Valley Temple. Lunch follows at a local Egyptian restaurant, after which you tour the National Egyptian Museum’s priceless pharaonic masterpieces. The day concludes in Old Cairo at the Saladin Citadel and the alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. You are then transferred to Giza Train Station to board your sleeping train to Aswan, with overnight aboard the train.

Day 3 :

Nile Cruise Embarkation, Aswan High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Temple of Philae

Breakfast is served aboard the train. Upon arrival in Aswan, your private Egyptologist guide drives you to the Aswan High Dam. You then transfer to your deluxe Nile cruise for check‑in (3 nights aboard). Lunch is served on the cruise, followed by afternoon tea. Later, rejoin your guide to discover the majestic Philae Temple of Isis and the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk. An optional felucca ride to Kitchener Island and Elephantine Island is available before you return to your cruise for overnight.

Day 4 :

Kom Ombo Temple, Temple of Edfu and Sailing to Luxor

Early morning offers an optional tour to Abu Simbel. As the cruise sails toward Luxor, your first visit is the double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Haroeris and Sobek. You then sail to Edfu, where you explore the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus. Lunch is served while sailing, and you overnight on the cruise.

Day 5 :

Edfu temple - Luxor: Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple

Early morning, the cruise arrives in Edfu for your tour of the well‑preserved Edfu Temple of Horus. Sailing continues toward Luxor. In the afternoon, enjoy a day tour of the staggering Karnak Temple Complex, the greatest example of worship in history, followed by a visit to Luxor Temple, built by Amunhotep III. Return to your Nile cruise for dinner and your final night aboard in Luxor.

Day 06 :

Nile Cruise Disembarkation, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon – Back to Cairo by flight

Early morning offers an optional hot air balloon flight over Luxor’s west bank and the Nile. After breakfast aboard the cruise, you disembark to explore the west bank: the Valley of the Kings (burial place of 18th‑ and 20th‑dynasty pharaohs), the Valley of the Queens, the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. You are then transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 07 :

Final Departure

After check‑out, you are transferred to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
